According to S.Teriokhin, Committee Chairman, "the Committee held 23 meeting, scrutinized 74 Bills, and coordinated two tax statements: on Value Added Tax and on Dues for Environmental Pollution.
S.Teriokhin stated that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted three documents. The said documents include the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Procedure of Import (Shipping), Customs Clearance and Taxation of Personal Belongings, Commodities and Vehicles that are imported (shipped) in Ukraine by the Citizens"(Reg. No.0906) that enhances the mechanism for determination of taxation basis for goods received by international postal shipping.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine upheld the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Single Customs Tariff" (re Taxation of Commodities of Ukrainian Production by Reduced Rates of import Duty) (Reg. No. 0907). The Bill was elaborated to secure balance of the national market of agricultural and manufactured products, and prevent evasion from import duty by reverse shipping of the said products of Ukrainian origin into the customs territory of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine" (Reg. No.2351-1) that aims at implementation of the international commitments of Ukraine regarding coordination of import duty rates for goods and commodities with the rates established by the Protocol on Ukraine´s Accession to the WTO.
The Parliament adopted the Bill on Amendments to Article 4 of the Law "On Income Tax of Natural Persons" (re Specification of Categories of Persons eligible for Supply of Free Coal for Household Needs) (Reg. No.1033 - 2). The Bill extends the number of those receiving free coal and coal cakes, the cost of which is not included in the monthly or annual taxed income, and is not liable to the personal income tax.
The Committee also scrutinized more than 3 thousand of other documents: remarks, motions appertaining to the Bills, citizens´ appeals.
The Committee held three conferences devoted to taxation of financial institutions and operations with financial assets, reforming and enhancement of excise duty in Ukraine.
